Automated System
Is it automated equipment you are looking for? Let us show you what we can do. This example of an automated shot peening cabinet for turbine engine rotors is only one of the several "special projects" cabinets manufactured in the past few years. Should it be semi-automated or fully automated, CANABLAST can meet your needs for custom-built equipment.

We have designed and produced hundreds of automated pneumatic blast systems, ranging in sophistication from continuous and indexing turntable cabinets to machines with computer controls developed specifically for unique production processes.

Besides reporting gains in productivity of between 100 and 700 percent, our customers point to enhanced quality control as a major reason for automating with Canablast.

The machine motions, work handling devices and fixtures described here are only a few of the many different forms of automation which have been employed in Pressure Blast equipment. They have been selected to indicate the variety of automation techniques which are available.

Indexing Turntable
As a rule, turntable units are designed for the processing of a particular work-piece with an individual degree of automation. For this reason the Canablast series is based on a modular system, which provides economical solutions both for manual feeding and also for semi-automatic or fully automatic operation.Linear operating vertical and horizontal nozzle moving devicesincrease the degree of automation of the units.

Even the basic version can be equipped with turntables in different sizes to take the parts. The bottom part of the body of the machine is designed as a hopper, which collects the circulating blasting media. This material hopper is fitted with discharge buckets to which the blasting guns are connected.
On the back wall of the machine there is an updraft separator that catches residual blasting media, dust and light foreign bodies. After blasting, the parts are blown off by special nozzles in a chamber that is separate from theblasting chamber to remove any residual blasting media.

Rotary Basket
The rotary basket represents the ideal solution to the overall finishing of large quantities of parts in bulk. Baskets of various sizes are available driven by variable speed drives. Guns, which are aimed into the open end of the basket, may vary in number but are generally nonmoving.

Baskets may be either manually or automatically loaded and unloaded. Arrangements can be made for metered loading, regulating, with considerable precision, the quantity of parts to be processed. The rotary basket machine is ideally suited to the finishing of components, which must be finished over their entire surfaces.

Rotary Head
Canablast’s continuous flow blasting machines are excellent for all around complete and continuous blasting of flat, voluminous, or complex components. Our powerful blast rotary head systems are mounted to the blast cabin housing in the most optimum positions to further insure uniform blast coverage of the components.

Each machine type has a unique component transport system and our process engineers are ready to help you choose a machine type that will satisfy your blasting needs.
